Plex media server hardware requirements2/15/2023 I have 4x3Tb formatted as ext4 because i don't need raid. Installed Xpenology (low hardware requirements) and i'm pretty happy about it. I recently bought an old HP Microserver Gen 7. I would want to avoid big purchases for hardware.excepting hdd drives. Can I use this maybe as the Plex server and have different hardware for the NAS and Nextcloud? What I have at the moment is an older laptop with i5-3317u processor and gt635 video card. What kind of hardware I would need in order to do the above? Media files for Plex server would not need redundancy. ![]() Plex server - I would need only transcoding for subtitles, I don't know the hardware requirement for this.įamily photos storage - these would also need redundancy. NAS storage for simple file sharing and storage through network at home. Nextcloud for backing up my wife's documents( she is a school teacher ) so she can access those in a simple and efficient way from her tablet smartphone or laptop, I would need redundancy with these, and atm she has arround 600gb worth of documents. I just want the cheapest way to run the following:
